PictoTango (ピクト単語) is a learning app that turns everyday things you find in photos into English and Chinese word cards. This policy explains how the app handles photos, learning data and device permissions.
Information we do not collect
The current version contains no user registration, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs. The developer does not track users for advertising purposes.
Photos and word cards
Images you take with the camera or choose from your photo library are used to suggest objects, create sticker images and save word cards. In the initial version, photos, cut-out stickers, word cards and review progress are stored on your device.
Camera and photo library permissions
Camera permission is used to photograph things around you and create word cards. Photo library permission is used only when you choose one of your own photos to create a card.
Audio playback
The pronunciation button uses Apple’s system speech synthesis to read words and example sentences in English, Chinese and Japanese. Nothing is recorded and no voice data is collected.
Cloud recognition
If cloud-assisted recognition is offered in the future, it will be used only when you explicitly turn it on in Settings. Even then, the design will prefer sending only the selected or cut-out object image rather than the whole original photo.
Use by children
PictoTango is designed so that parents and children can learn together, but the current version has no feature that collects personal information from children. Parents with questions or deletion requests are welcome to contact us.
Deleting data
Saved word cards and data derived from photos can be removed from your device with the delete option in the app or by uninstalling the app.
About this website
This website counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. No advertising or tracking cookies are used. Words are read aloud with your browser’s built-in speech synthesis and no audio is sent anywhere. Only your sound-effect setting and chosen read-aloud language are stored in your browser (localStorage).
